About Leuven
The conference will be held at the campus of Social Sciences → and at the campus of Groep T → in the heart of Leuven, the oldest Catholic university in the world and the oldest university in the Low Countries. The Katholieke Universiteit Leuven → was founded in 1425, and Leuven has been a university city ever since.
The town still owes much of its character to the numerous university buildings dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, many of which were renovated in the 18th century. The main market square with its fine gothic Town Hall, the finely sculpted Town Hall and Saint Peter's church with its magnificent interior and the Old Market (also known as the longest bar in the world) are fine examples of this flamboyant gothic architecture. Leuven is also home to AB-InBev → (former Stella Artois) the largest brewery company in the world.
Today, the charming city streets are filled with young faces and that the city lives and thrives at a student's rhythm. Shops, restaurants, cinemas, sports facilities and places of historical interest are all close together to mingle in a thriving atmosphere.
